Step 1: Find a Book

If you'd like to work with Hol, the first step is to find a book you love and believe should be published. Your participation and the ultimate formation of a complete team is the first step in separating the great books from the not-so-great.

To find great books to work on from our list of projects:

Search keywords in the complete project descriptions with the search box above.

Browse our list of books for new project proposals, or for projects that have already gotten underway with two or more team members signed on.

View projects with particular open positions by using the tags given at the end of each book listing, or from the list below. Click on Designer to see a listing of all books that still need a designer, Editor for all books looking for an editor, and so on.

Sort by type by using the tags given at the end of each book listing. Find books on photography or the 19th-century; books of artist writings or poetry; or work in translation.

Email us at projects [at] holartbooks.com for suggestions. We're happy to point you to promising projects, or to help narrow down the field to suit your interests and experience.

Start your own by submitting a great book that's gone out of print or one that's never been translated.

And as you look, you'll find that every project listing includes quite a bit of information to help you narrow the field and find the project that will be most successful for you:

  • Project description
  • Sample text for download
  • Resumés and profiles for all existing team members
  • Links to email the project manager with any questions

Once you've found a book, it's time to apply to the team.
