Want your art book reviewed in The New York Times? I've been tracking art book reviews for quite awhile and can now confidently declare my official "4 Sure Bets for Review Success!":

  1. Tale of art theft, forgery or other shady financial dealing
  2. Big biography of a major artist
  3. Fiction (preferably about an eccentric, bohemian painter -- real or imagined)
  4. Exposé on, or by a member of, the elitist art world
